Winter Champs 2015

The Netplan championships run to find the country’s leading amateurs at each level. Over 3500 tests were ridden over 19 Area Festivals last summer and a lucky few earned a coveted Petplan Equine ticket to contest the championship finals from Prelim to Inter 1

Preston qualified for the championships at Elementary Open Level after deciding that he wasn’t ready to do himself justice at this level in the regionals just yet.

60 riders received the golden ticket to ride at Elementary Open level from around the nation. The finals were split into 2 heats of 30 riders judged by 3 judges per heat. the top 15 riders of each heat then went forward to a final round.

Preston came 4th in the first round and so qualified for the finals! unfortunately Preston doesn’t like staying away from home and circumstances lead to a tired stressed little horse who refused to drink. He therefore wasn’t on form in the second round although I did my best to help him as much as I could. He still came a respectable 19th in the whole of the UK!

Another year or so of maturing and travelling alone to shows will correct this as I know I have a little wonder horse in my yard and I will nurture him to be big and brave like his brothers however I am proud of him for coming 19th

Preston came 4th in the first round of the Petplan Championships and qualified to ride in the final round.
