I have been having lessons with Tori since December 2008, when I arrived at her yard in dire need of help with my 5 year old, very special, but very sharp Holstein mare, Lorelei (Lori to her friends!). At that point we were hardly a match made in heaven....she was the first horse I had ever owned and had a talent and 'attitude' way beyond my riding capability. Tori took us both in hand and right back to basics.
In 18 months and with endless patience and help from Tori, both in lessons and in schooling Lori, we have grown up together. My skills have improved tenfold and Lori is developing beautifully, to the point where we are competing and winning. Apart from the technical teaching where Tori gives precise, easily understandable instructions with an explanation about why the actions are needed, I believe that the real difference in Tori's teaching is in her understanding and communication of the needs of the horse and its emotional response to your actions, attitude and temperament.
I would honestly recommend a lesson (or even better, several!) with Tori to anyone who loves horses and wants to improve their partnership with them, irrespective of whether or not you want to be a future dressage star. What you will get from Tori is honesty, fun, progress with your horse and overall, a really enjoyable experience.

Anyway I just wanted to say that was THE BEST LESSON I HAVE HAD so thank you and bearing in mind that I have had a lot of lessons. (Dont forget to tell your pupils to write down what they are told and re read it to remember it)!

When I first met Tori, the first thing that struck me was how genuinely keen and passionate she is about her teaching – so I was delighted to hear she worked in my area!
Her approach is very positive, clear and focussed, whilst always working in harmony with your horse’s temperament so the end result is a happy and willing ride.
She quickly assesses you and your horse’s strengths and weaknesses and develops with you a very clear system to improve and iron out problems, with realistic short and long term goals to keep you motivated.
She is totally unfazed by quirks and problems, having a workable answer for every problem whilst again keeping your horses temperament “on side”!

I purchased a beautiful Lusitano mare with Tori's help in September of 2009. Xaruga was six and had been ridden very little before I bought her. I hadn't had a riding lesson for nearly 20 years and may have picked up the odd bad habit or two!
Tori's patient teaching and methodical explantions of why things are going wrong mean that at the end of each lesson I know what I need to do before my next lesson. Every week I see an improvement in both the horse and my riding and always look forward to my next lesson.
In May 2010 we won our first ever outing at dressage, scoring 65% and competed in the Lusitano class at the Royal Windsor Horse show. Tori Peter has made a big change to my riding for the better and I have nothing but praise for her teaching. Brilliant
As a bonus to all of this the Tori Peter teaching has made me lose three and a half stone in weight... most excellent.

What a difference 5 weeks makes!
It was a mere 5 weeks ago when my SJ trainer Adrian Marsh recommended Tori Peters to me. My marks in dressage (BE) had not improved over a full season, consistently middle of the road. It was the phase that I least looked forward to, nothing seemed to be making a difference. That was, until Tori began to work her magic!
It was obvious from the outset that Tori was going to have a great impact. I was instantly impressed with her outstanding communication skills, which have not only made learning skills and techniques so much easier, but have inspired a real sense of confidence in both myself and Millie.
More specifically Tori has worked Millie true and correct focusing on building relaxation and communication between horse and rider through feel. This has culminated in a much happier horse and a strengthened partnership between myself and Millie.
With her lovely manner, yet a firm approach Tori has simplified riding dressage to a point where I am now actually excited about this phase of my events. Last Sunday, brimming with our new found confidence, we achieved a much improved score of 29.5. To put that into context, that’s 16 more marks than usual, In just 5weeks!
I am still beaming about it now and am really excited about the further potential I know Tori will bring out in us in weeks to come.
She is an absolute pleasure to work with and I would fully recommend her without reservation. I can honestly say Tori Peters is the best move we ever made.
